Swimming has been a huge part of my life from a very young age and has played a major role in shaping who I am today. Through the sport, I learned the importance of discipline, teamwork, commitment, and perseverance, all of which are lessons that continue to guide me as both an athlete and a coach. I am currently a graduating senior in high school and hope to eventually commission in the United States Army.
Our goal is to build a team culture that is disciplined, hardworking, welcoming, and fun. Swimmers should be challenged to improve while knowing they are supported every step of the way. We believe in meeting athletes where they are and providing the guidance they need to succeed.
This will be Michael’s second season coaching at Federal Club. He swam year-round with Nova consecutively since he was 5 years old up to when he graduated high school last year. Michael is currently a freshman at the University of William and Mary, where he enjoys playing club sports and hanging out with his friends. He plans on continuing his athletic career with the William and Mary club swim team and club tennis team, while majoring in Accounting. When he is not swimming, playing tennis, or studying, he enjoys his time by teaching tennis clinics and lifeguarding at Rockville, both of which he has done for 4 years. Michael has worked with kids for years and is excited to be coaching at Federal Club again this summer!
My name is Charlotte Causey and I am currently a sophomore at Maggie L Walker Governor’s School. I am very involved in the sports teams and academics in my community and at my school. I have swum year-round for NOVA for nearly 13 years, and I have now swum for the Maggie Walker high school swim team for two years. I am also a year-round tennis player and play in the starting lineup on our states-winning tennis team at Maggie Walker. In school, I am a part of the French Honor Society, National Honor Society, and Latin Honor Society. I am also very involved in tutoring inside and outside of school, and working with kids during tennis summer camps and, of course, coaching! This is my second year as a summer swim coach and my first as an assistant swim coach. I am super excited for our upcoming season and for working with everyone!
