Inclement Weather Policy
Safety is very important to GRAL, and the league wants all families, swimmers, and pool management people to make decisions with safety first in mind, including not ending meets later than 11:30 p.m.
1.Meets must not be postponed prior 6 p.m.
2.The pool management company is responsible for calling a weather delay and telling the teams when the pool is closed vs. open and ready to use.
3.Only the Meet Director, Parent reps or Board Reps from both teams, and the Pool Manager should be involved in the official determination about the weather.
4.When meets are postponed, both teams are allowed to make changes to swimmer’s individual events and relay team classifications. Swimmers must not be listed in more than 3 individual events (including no shows but NOT including scratches) and relay teams must conform to league rules.
5.If lightning or thunder are observed 30 minutes prior to these start times (8pm or 8:30pm), then the meet will be postponed.
6.Meet must end by 11:30 p.m. regardless of the event, and the rest should be finished on the rain date (or not at all if only relays are left).
